SERVER.OS5.COM is built from scratch, consisting of mostly spare parts I got for free doing spare jobs here and there. The chassis is new,
I purchased it after the previous chassis' power supply fan failed. I had predicted the power supply would fail and it did (it was an 8 year old chassis).
SERVER.OS5.COM does not have a floppy, cdrom, mouse, keyboard, nor monitor (as you can see from the image above).
On it's interior, SERVER's PCI/ISA slots are all empty, except for the 3COM NIC and the Adaptec SCSI controller.
SERVER does not have a video card.
SERVER.OS5.COM is serving a lot of internet services, such as my name server, mail server, and SSL web sites. It is also my LAN file and
print server, as well as my personal MP3 jukebox (currently 1GIG of songs). SERVER.OS5.COM is my first attempt at a LINUX server.
SERVER.OS5.COM first went online on May 1999, but was not fully function until my DSL connection was completed on September 1999.
SERVER.OS5.COM is remotely administered.
