LAPTOP.OS5.COM is the only computer on the OS5.COM network that is not built from scratch. It is a Dell laptop that I had purchased off an auction site during the summer of 1999. It was a good deal, roughly $600 for the whole package. It was refurbished at that time, but I have not had any problems with it at all. My only comlaint is that it's pcmcia controller seems to have some issues with suspend. Other than that, the only other complaint is that the laptop weighs in at a hefty 7.3 pounds.
LAPTOP is used mostly when I am on the road (read Bus). I also use it to transport data back and forth between my two places of residence. It also has some nice diagnostic tools that I use in diagnosing network problems. I also use LAPTOP for presentations and demonstrations.
To answer a frequently asked question, the reason why I am using Windows 95 is because I need an OS that runs graphics applications, and Windows 98 is a little to bloated for this relatively outdated laptop.
